Building a website.
1.Idea:
Decide what your website is about, choose something you are familiar with. 2.Domain Name:
choose a domain name that is: *Relative to your site. *Short. *Easy to remember. *Easy to spell. * .com extention 3.Choosing a host:
Stay away from free hosting companies.Choose a good host so your website will almost has 100% uptime 4.Design your website:
*Your website must load quickly(5sec max.)
*The user should know what's your site about in seconds
*Don't use fancy or tiny fonts
*Don't overuse images
*Don't require registration unless it is essential
*Don't play music
*You should have a good content that is updated maximum every 3 days 5.Driving Traffic to your website:
*Invite your family members, friends, colleagues,...everybody you know to view your site, join, and participate(if forum)
*Send SMS to all your mobile contacts
*Exchange links with similar websites
*Post your website to major search engines
*Post your website to lots of directories ( List of Directories)
*If you participate in forums put a link to your website in your forum signature.
*If you write articles always put a link to your website at the end.
*Buy some advertising space in relevant websites.
*You can use pay per click service(ppc) (example: adwords, Bidvertiser,...)
*You can run an ad in your local newspaper. 6.Generating revenue from your website:
*Don't worry about generating money from your website. If your website has good, original and unique content with good amount of visitors you will eventually generates a revenue from it
*Don't put ads everywhere
*Don't build your website just for ads
*Your web site must have plenty of good unique content
*You can use PPC service(adsense,Bidvertiser,...)
*You can sell your own ad space
*You can use affiliate programs
*Sell your own service/software/ebook/.... |
